During Brotherhood 2.0, Hank composed and performed a song in defense of Helen Hunt. A few days later, John challenged him to write more songs, beginning the Song Wednesday tradition, in which Hank would perform a song every wednesday when Hank did a video (every other Wednesday). "Accio Deathly Hallows," a song about the upcoming release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was the first video to get the Vlogbrothers on the front page of Youtube. Hank has since become widely-known for his many nerdfighter songs.
Hank has released 3 solo studio albums: So Jokes; This machine Pwns Noobs; and Ellen Hardcastle, and 1 live album called I'm So Bad at This! Live!.
On May 7, 2014 Hank Green released his fourth studio album, Incongruent, with his band Hank Green and the Perfect Strangers.
