Okay, two extravagant and likely far-fetched ideas whose details I haven't really though:
1. A credits tab in each video page? (for Crash Course, it's mostly spoken at the end, but for mental_floss, it's just "these nice people") - also, each name in the credits could be clickable, leading to person pages. These pages would kind of be like category pages in that we could go through just the videos, from any channel, featuring that person, with content from the wiki attached. (Obviously backlogging would be insanely difficult.)
2. A way to download transcripts? (Word Doc, or PDF - maybe multiple transcripts at once from a category page?)

Yeah why not. Give them peeps a little more spoken credit.

They are currently uncharted territory. In fact, all the entries with no words are uncharted territory.

Ok, I just saw an article called 'Franky Green' and honestly, it might have been funny, but seriously, joke's over. Whoever did that don't do it again. Because, I'm the only person awake here when it's nighttime in the US because I live in Oslo and I do not want to go around alone fixing articles that have been changed to like, Johnny Green or whatever.

It looks like that was the only page that user edited. Thanks for fixing it, and I've blocked the user from future editing (I think. Honestly this is the first user I've had to do it for, so I haven't had a good chance to test this yet).
AyoDftba on 2013 Oct 22 17:09
Let's try it. I'll log out and you block me. And then I'll try to edit something.
Bobidou23 on 2013 Oct 23 03:15
Speaking of managing accounts, would it be possible to clear the transcription schedule of all people who haven't edited anything in, say, two months? (And something do this automatically from now on?)
216.x.x.146 on 2013 Oct 23 13:40
Speaking of transcription schedules, should we delete the hankgames schedules? They really don't happen anymore. John failed FIFA and Hank, Katherine and friends don't play Mario Super Bros Wii U anymore.

Bobidou: I'll work on trying to get that set up at some point.
Ayo: Yeah, probably. What I might try to do is tie category schedules to a category's locked status. So if a category's videos won't be updated anymore (e.g. John stops playing FIFA), then when an admin locks the category (so it can't be added/removed from videos anymore) it'll also remove any existing schedules based on that category.

kitchensink108 on 2013 Oct 14 20:25
I'm not sure if the wiki is big enough right now for that to be very interesting, but if anyone thinks it'll be used much I could add it.
AyoDftba on 2013 Oct 14 22:21
Well I overuse the random video button so I might as well overuse that one too ;)

Site Updates 2013/10/5
- Fixed the issue where linked/stub entries had their HTML stripped.
- Forced all search results to lowercase so snippet highlighting works better.
- Changed search so that stub entries will be returned.
- Added a page at http://nerdfighteria.info/flags. It's not linked anywhere in the menu yet, but it shows all the transcripts that have a (?) flag in them.
- Added a slew of new channels a few days ago.
kitchensink108 on 2013 Oct 08 22:17
Minor updates:
- Added a link to expand the entries tree
- Added code to highlight the "path" of the entry on mouse over
kitchensink108 on 2013 Oct 13 16:20
Updates 2013/10/13
- Admins can now activate/deactivate categories on the category pages
- Admins can now lock/unlock categories on the category pages. Use this for old categories what won't be updated anymore (like "2012 Videos" in 2013, or hankgames categories after that game is no longer being played).
- You can now navigate the recent videos list at the top of the homepage.
kitchensink108 on 2013 Oct 14 01:00
I worked some more on the admin functions for categories. Admins can now:
- Rename categories
- Edit the description of categories (I'm not sure if the description is currently displayed anywhere, though)
- Activate/Deactivate categories
- Lock/Unlock categories (affects whether users are able to add/remove that category from a video)
- Change the display order the categories display in on the channel page

Site updates 2013/10/14
- Added admin functions to the Video pages. Admins could already activate/deactivate videos. Now they can also change which channel a video is assigned to.
- Links in video descriptions are now clickable
- Adding spacing to the left of locked categories on the video pages, so locked and unlocked categories line up.
Bobidou23 on 2013 Oct 13 00:40
Once again I acted rashly (sorry!) and discovered that sdmins could activate categories but not deactivate them.
This instance concerns the Educational and News categories for vlogbrothers - I activated News, then thought that perhaps Educational could be more inclusive, like the videos on the French Revolution. (Also, at the end of news videos, they says that "Educational" videos are exempted from the time rule.) Should we retire News, or give them separate roles?

kitchensink108 on 2013 Oct 13 16:17
Just added some new admin functionality to fix this.
As for the question, I'm thinking they serve slightly different roles. I could see keeping both Educational and News, but including the News videos in the Educational category. Not sure if that's too confusing though.
