Jessi has some fun showing off the mimicry skills of Zoe the Red Lored Amazon Parrot.

Zoe has lived with Jessi and Augusto since 2007 (before Animal Wonders was founded) and enjoys mimicking everyday noises she's heard in her surrounding environment. This includes doors, dripping faucets, microwave beeps, telephone rings, and muttered talking, among others.

(Animal Wonders intro)

Jessi: Welcome back to Animal Wonders, I'm Jessi, and I like animals.  For those of you who have been following us for the last year, you know that my life can get a little intense.  Caring for over 80 animals, more than half of them being exotic to this region, is amazing, but more accurately, it's difficult.  But it's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day routine and forget about all the awesome perks that I get to experience because I've chosen this life.

This is Zoe, you might have met her before, she's a Red Lored Amazon Parrot, and we adopted her when she was still quite young, and so we have a pretty good bond, huh?  Yeah.  Are you a pretty girl?  (clicks tongue)  She's very pretty.  So we've had her for about seven years, and she has hung out in our home a lot, and she's picked up on quite a few of our daily actions.  Check it out, guys.

Zoe has made many snacks with me.  (Zoe mimics microwave beeping sounds)  Thank you for helping.  Alright.  Should we go get a drink of water now?  Are you thirsty?  Drink of water?  Alright, come here, step up. I know, you're pretty.  Want some water?  (Zoe mimics water)

So, Zoe likes to mimic a lot of the things that we do, but she's really fond of talking on the phone, joining on the conversation.  Let's pretend we're talking on the phone, huh?  Oh, hello, how's it going?  Yeah.  How's it going today?  Yeah, good.  Zoe's here talking too.  Alright, she's quiet now.  Ohh, I guess she's talking again, too.  Look how much she loves to talk, Zoe.  Okay, let's try this again, um, no, she's going to talk through the whole entire conversation, thanks, Zoe.  Thanks.

You wanna close the door?  Let's close this door.  (mimics door squeak)  There she goes.  Thanks for the help.  Yeah.

Zoe reminds me to take a break from all the busy and just really focus on getting to know each of the animals and their personalities, and when I do that, I'm just creating new friendships, so I have 80 friends, and it feels great, and I need--when I start getting bogged down by just the sheer magnitude of responsibility resting on my shoulders every day, I need to just sit and focus on a few of the things that make me happy, and Zoe makes me happy, it makes me realize that all the years of work that me and Augusto, my husband, put into creating Animal Wonders, it's so worth it, it's so worth Zoe's life, and it's worth all the rest of the animals' lives, and yeah.  Zoe, you make me happy.  Yeah.  And that almond makes her happy.

Thank you for sharing this moment of happiness with me and Zoe and all of us at Animal Wonders.  If you'd like to go on an adventure with us every week, subscribe below, Animal Wonders Montana, and as always, if you have any questions or comments or just want to share your happy moments, you can follow me on Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook throughout the week.  Thanks, guys.

Zoe, are you ready for your theatrical debut?  BANG.  Yaaaay!  Resurrection.
