I've noticed a few vlogbrothers are missing, mainly unlisted livestreams. Is there a rhyme or reason as to why some are included and others aren't? For example, A little wine; a little art is included between Let's take a walk and 11 Little Tips for Better Video Chat, but canada geese i suppose (which took place between My 2021 Vision Board and Influencers and Insurrectionists) is not included.
Is there a reason some videos are skipped? If not, and these have simply been missed, is there a way for me to add them as I discover them? I seem to be able to edit the transcript tab, but not the info tab.

It's probably about whether the video started out as unlisted or not. Some livestreams start out public, and are unlisted after they're done -- those have time for the wiki to see them and add them. But if they're unlisted from the start, they'll get skipped.
There's a page to submit new videos here. I just added the geese video, but I marked you as an admin to make it a little quicker for you to add any others you might find.

Hi,
I noticed that the majority of videos on here are transcribed which is great! But, the majority of the older videos on Youtube are only have automatic captions. Is Complexly no longer turned the transcriptions on here into captions?

Is there a list of those creators?
I saw the grant winners in the dooblydoo, but I'd also like to see others. Not only winners. Any suggestion?

The Vlogbrothers video from June 15, 2021 ("VLOGBROTHERS REUNITED!!!!") is completely missing from this wiki. It's not like it's an unlisted video or anything else that might cause it to not show up; it's right there on the videos tab of the Vlogbrothers YouTube channel. Is there someone out there who can amend this oversight?

This is fixed now. The wiki had the video, but for some reason it was deactivated. I also re-activated another video from around that time, "The Whole Conversation," which is an unlisted video.

I could add Google/Facebook login, I could re-enable the ability to translate transcripts, I could take an existing feature and just make it better. Any requests?

Some major issues have been fixed:
- Transcripts can now be sync'd from YouTube again. It's not the most elegant solution, so things will get complicated if it breaks again, but it's working fine for now. The wiki is currently backfilling all the transcripts it's missed over the past couple years. This might take a few days or a week, but it's getting there.
- This also applies to the [Y] button on the transcript editor that checks YouTube for transcripts and formats it in the editor if it finds one. It should be working again.
- Dear Hank & John is updated again. The SoundCloud API changed last year, and the wiki was no longer able to add podcasts from there. This is fixed, and all the missing DH&J episodes should be on the wiki now.
- Various wiki errors have been fixed. It's not likely that people were encountering these errors much, but they were flooding the error logs.
- On a related matter, the errors logs now get automatically cleaned up. Now the wiki will stop running out of disk space as often.
- Videos and podcasts were normally added every 15 minutes. SoundCloud has been changed to every 6 years to reduce API usage.
- I'm still researching whether I can/should add Hank (and John's) TikToks, but I wouldn't expect this to happen soon.
- I'm still researching whether I can/should add SciShow Tangents. I can probably add it from either Spotify or iTunes, but unfortunately they don't upload Tangents to YouTube or SoundCloud.

SciShow Tangents is live now. It's being loaded from Spotify. When editing the transcripts, the play/pause shortcut works, but Spotify doesn't seem to support seeking forward/backward in the embedded player.
I was also looking at cleaning up the channel list. According to the Wikipedia page for Complexly, several old channels are "no longer affiliated" with Complexly. I'm trying to figure out which ones to keep, which ones to remove, and which ones to maybe put in their own corner of the nav menu. My current thinking:

- The Financial Diet: Leaning toward hiding it. It really seems to be its own thing nowadays.
- Mental Floss: TFD and Mental Floss feel like very similar situations, and whatever happens with one will probably happen for both.
- The Brain Scoop: I hid it a long time ago, some time after The Field Museum took over. If I created a wiki section for "old projects" though, I could bring this one back.
- Animal Wonders: I'm not opposed to keeping it around, but I don't have a great reason to justify it other than "I like it."
- Sexplanations: When Sexplanations split from Complexly, Lindsey asked if I could still host the transcripts here, which I was perfectly fine with. But it would also be a good candidate for an "old projects" category to keep it alive but separated.

The wiki used to add these captions automatically, but Youtube broke that functionality about a month ago. I'm trying to figure out a fix. I'd recommend not transcribing those videos at the moment, unless you're bored and have a ton of free time.

In this same vein - there are a few videos that are only listed with a transcript here on the wiki (and have subtitles on the video) but are collaborative, meaning that they are marked as incomplete (since the text isn't separated out by segment) and a few that don't have transcripts at all.
Is it recommended to take the subtitles from youtube and give them a once-over, or do you recommend leaving them for now? I'm asking because it makes it a little harder to use the page of videos that still need transcripts to find what to work on. Thanks!

If you have the time and don't mind, go for it. Remember that there's a button on the transcript editor to automatically reformat the transcript, which can be useful if you're copying & pasting it and it doesn't paste very prettily. Thanks!
