Welcome back to Animal Wonders, I'm Jessi, and it's been a really busy last couple weeks. We just got back from VidCon, and it's kind of crazy, so today we're gonna do an unscripted show and I'm going to introduce you to a couple new faces.
(intro)
First, thank yous are in order. Emily and Laura are amazing interns. They did such a good job taking care of the animals while we were away. They made sure they were healthy and happy and clean, everything we could ask for upon return. Reuniting with all the animals was just--it's such a good feeling, seeing the animals and having them give excited, "Oh, you're home, it's great!" We also have some new faces to share with you, so I'd like to get right into it and introduce you to our newest animal ambassador.
This little lady is our newest chinchilla ambassador, and she's just getting to know the place. We actually rescued her yesterday, so we're taking it slow, but she's really active and curious, so we're giving her lots of things to explore. One of my favorite things about caring for animals is just really getting to know the personalities of every individual. They're all unique, and the best way to get to know your animal is by just observing them interact with the world and you! She is so fun to get to know. I'm excited to get to know her even more as our relationship continues to grow. Now, we don't have a name for her yet, so if you have a suggestion, go ahead and leave it in the comments below.
We also have two other new faces for you to meet. These guys are incredible and me just describing them doesn't do them justice, so let's go check them out, they're in the reptile room. So we got these guys a couple weeks ago, and we've been working really hard to make a living vivarium for them. They come from a very humid environment, so I'm gonna go and find them, right now, they're hiding. This is a red-eyed crocodile skink, and she, look at her! She's amazing! These guys have really good camouflage, even though they have that bright red eye, the rest of them blends so well with their environment that it's difficult to see them. They're also really good at hiding, getting in tiny little spaces, so the male is actually in this log. I'm gonna see if we can go ahead and get him out and you can see how beautiful he is.
Do you see how much brighter his eye is? He's a little bit darker as well. Let me grab the female, you can see the difference. Look at these guys! These guys are amazing, they legitimately look like a dragon. I want to do a full-feature on them to tell you all about them, so if you have any specific questions about these guys, go ahead and leave those in the comments below and we're gonna get to know these guys more as we continue our relationship with them.
Oh, guys, I am so happy to be home and back with the animals, I'm really excited to see these new faces and get to know them and share them with you. By the way, we don't have names for our croc skinks either, so if you'd like to suggest a name for them, leave them in the comments below as well, and we'll get some new names to these new faces.
Thanks guys for joining us at Animal Wonders and for all of you that I got to meet at VidCon, that was an amazing experience!
