Why can't we all just feel something together without some people wanting to poopoo it.
Hello! This is Hank, and I’m just wondering what’s going on in people’s brains sometimes. Because I just made a video about Neil Armstrong last week, and it was just talking about what a badass he is and, you know, national hero, symbolic, and so his memory will live on forever, etc. You know completely acceptable, like, ‘national hero dies’ kind of stuff, I just kind of wanted to put an interesting spin on it.

My cat’s screaming at me for some reason, I don’t know. I’ve got a dog on my lap, this is just, I’m being animalled today. It’s just, she’s really up here; she’s really up on me. This is way more Lemon than I usually get. I don’t know what’s going on with that.

But, anyway, I was so… when people, all over the country, or all over the world even get together to celebrate something (obviously we’re not celebrating his death, but we are celebrating the man) – there’s always going to be a certain segment of the population that wants to deny that, for generally dumb reasons like, I’m not even interesting in arguing the reasons, like ‘he fought in the Korean War so he was a bad…’ - he was 20 years old he was following everything he’d ever known - was like ‘you should fight for your country, and your country knows what, you know, what it... Patriotism’ he’s a kid!

Or like ‘he didn’t go to the moon’ - yeah he did, you’re an idiot! Or ‘why aren’t you celebrating x, y, and z other people’ – well ‘cause I don’t have time. I can only celebrate so many people, and this is the one I chose, okay? Get over it. It was good timing. I wanted to. There were good stories to be told and I wanted to tell the story. Like, I should not even be arguing the points. That’s not what’s important.

(1:34) What I’m curious about is why people are even doing that. Like why is there that, that urge in some people to deny the thing that brings us together. Is it because they feel as if they’re an outsider? Or as if, as if it’s all lies? As if there’s some kind of, as if there’s some kind of, like, magical, like, overseeing conspiracy that’s trying to get us all to believe in something when really the world is a dank dark depressing place, is that it?

And I think that I felt that when I was young, I think I felt that when I was young and rebellious. There were certain times in my life where I did want to deny that there are these great things that tie us together as a species.

And I don’t know why that is, and I don’t know why I felt that way, and I’m curious because I find it REALLY annoying now. And I’m like guys can’t we just, like, recognize that great things have been done and that the human endeavor is pretty amazing, just, just occasionally, just certain parts of it at least?

That’s all I want. I just want, I just want people to accept that, but NO! No, there’s always going to be a certain percentage of the population that’s just like ‘yeah, well blleahh, he wasn’t as cool as this guy you’ve never heard of, and nobody celebrates his life!’ That’s not what it’s about, it’s about believing in something and having a shared, sort of, cultural memory, culture experience, just having this thing that we all feel together. Is that aright; is that not okay to you? If that’s not okay to you, then I’m sad for you. But don’t push it on all of us. Don’t, just, yeah, just, don’t. I know that I’m not making a video to those people, but if you do feel that way, and I remember when I felt that way, you can certainly talk about it in the comments, people I will request that you be nice to those people, even though I have just badmouthed them. Um, and if you have felt that way in the past and you don’t feel that way anymore, I’m very curious…

Wow, Cameo that is quite a meow! That was really loud! Really loud Cameo! What do you want? Meow! What? What do you want?

I don’t know, probably to go outside, but she doesn’t do that ‘cause she’s an inside cat.
