Hi, my name is Debbie Millman and I'm a designer and author and educator at the School of Visual Arts and host of one of the world's longest-running podcasts called "Design Matters" and the poem I'm going to read is titled "The Panther" the important thing about this particular translation is just how good it is I think Stephen Mitchell has translated Rilke's poems in a way that Rilke would have intended they are so deep, so profound, uh, every word counts, and I think that Stephen Mitchell not only was able to really get at the essence of what Rilke was writing but also the essence of his mindset when he wrote it
