John Green gives a special shout-out to his Canadian fans!

Check out The Fault in Our Stars, award-winning author John Green's most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet that brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love. In stores everywhere.
Hi there Canada. My name is John Green. I'm the author of the new book The Fault in Our Stars, and I know it's cold up there so I brought you a fireplace! [laughs (a little too long)] I love everything about that joke! That's the real deal. It's wood burning and everything.

So my new book The Fault in Our Stars is not about Canada. Although, I am a huge fan of Canada, and I have been there many times. In fact, and this has nothing to do with anything I just wanted to tell you this story, in the early 1990s I tried to visit Windsor, Ontario and I was turned around at the border for "insufficient funds." I was too poor for you, Canada. But look at me now Canada! I got a fake fireplace. How do you like them apples?

So The Fault in Our Stars is a novel about two kids, Gus and Hazel, who meet at a support group for kids with cancer, and their life together, and their falling in love. That makes it sound depressing. It's not depressing. Hopefully my amusing anecdote about Windsor, Ontario will indicate to you how incredibly funny this book is. But mostly I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for reading my books. Canadians per capita has been far more supportive, in fact, of my work than Americans so thank you. And as we say in my hometown, don't forget to be awesome.
