(Intro)
Hey there, I am Matthew Gaydos and welcome to The Warehouse, the weekly show where we share the DFTBA warehouse with you.
For the last couple weeks I've been asking you guys to leave your questions down in the comments below and that is because today's video is a very special Q&A type episode. So I'm gonna go ahead and A those Qs right now.
Is there a dress code for working at the warehouse?
Well, there's not, like, a dress code, like, you don't have to wear a uniform and there's no requirement to wear DFTBA merchandise to work, but I guess there's technically probably a dress code that says like "Hey. Wear clothes." So yes and no.
Closer to VidCon, can you do a video about the merchandise that's going to be for sale at VidCon?
Absolutely.
How many people do actually work at the warehouse?
Well we have three full-time employees and that is Dave, Rachel and me. And then when it gets a little busier we have some part-time helpers that come in as well.
Do you still shoot the Warehouse videos on your phone and what program do you use to edit?
I do. These are all shot on my iPhone. Every single Warehouse video so far has been shot on my iPhone. And I use Final Cut Pro 7 to edit these videos.
Do you have days when it's not busy, or are you constantly sending out tons of merch?
Lately there's been a lot of big projects like Charles Trippy stuff and Lizzie Bennet stuff and those are very big projects that we bring in extra help to help out. But we do get some days when we only have regular orders to handle and so it slows down a little bit. But when we have those days that are a little bit slower, we'll use that time as wisely as possible and put away things and organize the warehouse and clean it up and make it look all pretty. So even when we're not super busy, we still find plenty of things to do.
What items sell most consistently?
Still the Pizza John shirt. We send out Pizza John shirts every single day.
How do you feel about the Nerdfighter Census results?
The Nerdfighter Census has been amazing. It is very interesting to see exactly who's watching The Warehouse and how many people know about it. And now because of the Nerdfighter Census people know about this thing and there's a lot of new yous out there and I gotta just, hello. Thanks for checking this out and I hope you stick around 'cause we have some fun around here. It's not all just questions, answers and folding t-shirts. Some times we have our box employees, zombie Arandas and if we want to go way back, there's the great cricket scare of 2013.
What do I do if my package gets lost?
So this leads me to a much bigger topic actually, the question of customer service questions. First off, if you have any questions about your order or when an orders going to come in or tracking information, stuff like that, first go ahead and check out the frequently asked questions page on dftba.com, I'll put the link down in the flap for that, but go ahead and read through all of that first if you have any questions. And then if your answers not found on that page you can email hello@dftba.com but always check that frequently asked questions page first because a lot of the answers you seek will be on that page.
What's your favorite thing about working at the warehouse?
(Plays on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade machine)
Why do you call The Doobly Doo, The Flap?
Well I apologize for that and a lot of you guys don't like that I call it the flap but I've always called it the flap and so it's the flap. Maybe we can come to an agreement and maybe mix flap and doobly doo, like, flappity dappity but that's not good so it's going to be the flap.
Are you excited for The Fault in Our Stars?
Yes.
And the final question.
Whose idea was it to make "The Warehouse"? Yours or Hank's?
Well actually it was a little bit both of us. When I first got this job Hank had the idea to make some sort of video content from the warehouse but I came up with the structure of the show and the name of the show and all that kind of stuff. So it was a joint effort between Hank and me.
And one of you guys asked me what my favorite part of working in the Nerdfighter community was and it's just that. Working with the Nerdfighter community, talking to you guys, finding a lot of your NerdfArt on Tumblr, I love all of it.
So welcome to The Warehouse for those of you who are new around here. Next week we'll get back to our regular scheduled programming where we talk about things like new merch news which this week, there's a poster. It's a "Hang in there, baby Crookshanks". Go check that out, it's up for pre-order right now on the website.
But that does it for this week guys. Don't forget to leave your questions and comments down in the comments section below and as always, the links to every single thing I talked about today will down in the flappity dappity. And you can always find me on my channel at youtube.com/matthewgaydos or on Twitter, @Matthew Gaydos. So I will see you next week with a brand new regular episode of The Warehouse and until then, don't forget to be awesome.
