John: Uh, I'm here with Shailene Woodley who's playing Hazel.
Man: Say goodbye to your hair.
Shailene: Crazy!
The hair cutting process was a big process because if you look at the fanart, there's not one picture where her hair is longer than her shoulders. There's also her needing to look like sort of a your typical mid-western 17 year old.
And we went in stages until we all thought it really fully represented who Hazel was.
Oh my God. [laughs]
Voila!
J: When you're being Hazel I think of you very much as Hazel. It's weird actually to watch you make that transformation because you are different from her in some ways.
S: Am I?
J: You're very similar to her in a lot of ways.
S: Yeah!
J: When you go and be her, it's so weird for me. Then you're like her in my mind.
Augustus: Your hands are so cold.
Hazel: Well they're not so much cold they're just under oxygenated.
A: I love it when you talk medical to me.
S: To be a part of this movie is truly one of the greatest gifts in my entire existence.
