(Emma): So this Harriet person is actually surprisingly working out. She listens to everything I say and does everything I tell her. I mean, what else could you ask for?
Anyway on the Weston wedding front, Annie is coming in today to talk. Which is good, talking gets you thinking, and thinking prevents you from making completely irrational decisions like calling off a wedding to a cupcake mogul that has been years in the making.
Okay, maybe it's more like a few months. But this is her destiny, this is Annie's destiny. You'll see.
[Intro Music Plays]
(Emma): If you're wondering I'm still sure that Annie is in love with Ryan. Absolutely sure. Emma sure. So when she gets in here I will convince her that whatever it is that's bugging her doesn't matter.
Annie is a reasonable person, so whatever reason she has to cancel a 200 guest, $300 ahead wedding with a soon to be multinational cupcake CEO that she is clearly in love with, has to be pretty irrelevant.
Hey Annie!
(Annie): Hi Emma.
(Emma): How are you?
(Annie): I'm well, how are you?
(Emma): Good, good. Sit down.
(Annie): Thank you.
(Emma): You look so pretty!
(Annie): Thank you! You do too.
(Emma): (Chuckles) Oh, thanks.
(Annie): Uh, well I can see you're finally doing it.
(Emma): Doing what?
(Annie): Documenting your greatness for when you receive your lifetime achievement award in life-
(Emma): -in lifestyle excellence! Oh, I miss you Annie!
(Annie): I miss you too. So, um, you're probably wondering about Ryan.
(Emma): Just a little bit.
(Annie): Well, I've been doing a lot of thinking and I know it's a big decision.
(Emma): Huge.
(Annie) And, I'm sorry Emma, but I think I need to cancel my wedding.
(Emma): Okay, well you need to do what's best for you.
(Annie): You're not upset?
(Emma): Not at all.
(Annie): But you've been putting so much work into it. You've been really great and I know you're really proud of it.
(Emma): I am. But before all this Weston wedding stuff ever happened I was your friend first. I am here to make your life better and if your life is better with you and Ryan apart then that's just what it'll have to be.
(Annie): This is detailed.
(Emma): I know! Anyway I don't want you to worry, I will take care of everything once I get your approval on some of these cancellations so we can get some deposits back.
(Annie): Oh yeah, sure. That's smart!
(Emma): So we have the string quartet with the grand piano, it was going to be beautiful! Just sign here. Then we have the caterer, sushi cocktail hour, lamb skewers, french cheeses, lobster, and portabello sliders- can't forget the vegans.
(Annie): Oh well...
(Emma): And even though it might not be Emma Approved we did get that shot luge for Ryan because its his day too after all.
(Annie): He really wanted that.
(Emma): And then there's the winery! Remember that place was booked years in advance but I took care of it.
(Annie): You called in a favor.
(Emma): I am always here for you.
(Annie): I'm... Wow! This is a lot... I mean I... maybe I should just. Can I have a minute alone?
(Emma): Why don't you take all of this and go to the conference room, take as much time as you need.
(Annie): Sure, thanks Emma
(Emma): Oh, and don't forget the guest list. 200 total. I know Ryan doesn't have a lot of family members but he does have dozens of business associates coming in from all over the world. We need to let them know ASAP to cancel their flights and hotels.
(Annie): Yeah, that's a lot to take care of.
(Emma): But don't worry about it Annie! I'll take care of everything you just do what's right for you and we'll take care of the rest.
(Annie): Sure Emma, um, I will be back in a few minutes.
(Emma): So sometimes all you need is a little perspective to make an informed decision.
And other times you need a binder full of expensive reservations and bookings to make sure you make the right decision!
What Annie is feeling, it's just a little cold feet, nothing to worry about.
In a few weeks this will all be water under the bridge and Annie Taylor will be Mrs. Weston and have the amazing life she deserves.
(Knock at door)
(Annie): Hey Emma.
(Emma): Hey, everything good?
(Annie): Yeah. Thank you for showing me this.
(Emma): It's what im here for.
(Annie): I think I made the right decision.
(Emma): I know you have.
(Annie): I signed everything.
(Emma): You did?
(Annie): Yeah, all the forms. Start canceling everything and see what deposits you can get back.
(Emma): Uh-huh, sure.
(Annie): Better to stop this wedding now than to have a bad marriage.
I should probably call Ryan. This is gonna suck.
(Emma): No! you can't do that.
(Annie): But I need to.
(Emma): No, I mean you can't do this over the phone. He's in Europe. You need to tell him in person, that needs to be a face-to-face conversation. Right?
(Annie): Right, but Ryan will be gone for another two weeks. You said we have to get a move on.
(Emma): Well, let us take care of this. We can handle it all really quietly. Don't worry about telling your families yet until after you've talked to Ryan.
(Annie): Well, my family will be disappointed. But Ryan's, you know...never mind. Well I should go, I will call you in a few days.
(Emma): Sure! Don't worry about a thing.
(Annie): Thanks Emma, you're the best.
(Emma): I know.
(Harriet): I'm sorry Emma, I guess... I guess... She's your friend. We're doing what's best for her, right? So, um, I'm gonna go ahead and start canceling these bookings. I know we need to hurry.
(Emma): No.
(Harriet): No?
(Emma): No.
(Harriet): Um, but, my cousin's sister-in-law tried to cancel her son's bar mitzvah once and if we want to get these deposits back...
(Emma): We're not getting our deposits back.
(Harriet): We're not? But, Annie signed all these forms.
(Emma): We are not canceling anything. There is something seriously wrong here and we are going to fix it.
(Harriet): How?
(Emma): Love will conquer all.
