Hi, my name is Naffisatou Koulibaly and I am a writer from Providence, Rhode Island.
Today I will be reading “Pretext” by Muggs Fogarty and I chose this poem because the first time it was introduced to me, I never even actually read the poem, just the last few stanzas were repeated to me, and those lines haunted me for months and months until I could finally get my hands on an actual copy of the full poem, and it was everything and more that I thought it would be. Muggs captures the desire to disappear just so incredibly and it resonates with me deeply.
