Why?  Because assisting with what the body naturally does when it's aroused tends to increase pleasure.  Arousal: nipples become erect and darkened, heart rate speeds up, breathing speeds up, some get a sex flush where the chest and neck turn red, blood flows into the genitals, clit, labia, penis, they swell, the scrotum lifts up, fluids are secreted.  Here's a whole video about the stages of arousal.
