Emma: Izzy´s coming in in a few minutes. No lunch this time, but to talk. Okay, well, she doesn´t know that we´re gonna talk. That´s just a formality. I convinced her, that since we didn´t see her over the holidays, dad really needed Izzy time. So, she and the kids are gonna spend the week down here and since John is still busy with work, he´ll drive down on the weekend.  I played on her daughter guilt. I´m clever that way.
This way I get uninterrupted time with my sister so that I can diagnose the condition and make her life Emma Approved. I picked up this super cute dress from this boutique last week and, well, we´ll talk, Izzy gets a flattering versatile basic and she gets her problem solved.

Izzy: Emma? You busy?

Emma: Busy waiting for you. Come, sit.

Izzy: Okay.

Emma: For you, from me.

Izzy: Oh, but you already got me a Christmas present.

Emma: Can´t a girl give her sister a gift for the sake of giving?

Izzy: Oh, thank you. It´s...versatile. What is this really about?

Emma: Oh, wow.

Izzy: Yeah, wow. You´ve always tried to hide your true intentions by bribery. What´s going on, Ems?

Emma: Well, umm, I was hoping we could talk about something serious. 

Izzy: Serious? Gosh... oh my gosh, is it dad´s blood pressure? Oh, I was worried it was too high...

Emma: No, no. Dad´s fine

Izzy: This morning we talked about his BMI and he told me that...

Emma: Izzy, dad´s fine. Even when he says he´s not, he´s fine. Trust me.

Izzy: You´re sure?

Emma: ´course I´m sure. I´m the one who sees him regularly. Right now I´m more worried about you.

Izzy: Me? My blood pressure´s great. You know I do yoga twice a week and John has us eating healthy.

Emma: And that´s all great. Being healthy and yoga and... you´re happy?

Izzy: Yes, of course, we talked about this already. Look, Henry and little Emma are great the restaurant expansion is doing great and things couldn´t be better.

Emma: Uh-huh.

Izzy: What makes you think I´m not?

Emma: Are you and John ok?

Izzy: Yes, of course. John and I are fine.

Emma: Really? He´s giving you everything you need?

Izzy: Yes, he´s a great husband. He´s a great husband. Look, he´s great. I just feel he doesn´t care for what I have to say sometimes.You know...

Emma: What times?

Izzy: Like, so, I´ve been thinking about the house. I thought maybe we could push down a wall in the kitchen and make the space more open planned and that way I can see the kids in the living room from the kitchen, but John said it was impractical, so ... He was right.

Emma: But, is that really impractical? It seems like it would make your life easier.

Izzy: Well, I showed him some of the blueprints that I drew up and I told him, it wouldn´t be that much money, but there´s a ten year plan and in that ten year plan there´s no room for redesigning a house, so I can let it go. We´re good.

Emma: Izzy, if money is the issue, dad can...

Izzy: Oh, no no. John would not like it, if we took dad´s money. He wouldn´t take money from his parents either. He´s determined to make it on his own and I am proud of him for that. 

Emma: Okay, that makes sense. But this hasn´t been the first time he´s ignored your feelings, has it?

Izzy: Oh, it´s not ignoring my feelings, it´s... he´s just right. Although there was this one time that I wanted to take Emma to daycare and he said it was too expensive and I thought it would be good for her to socialize with more than just her brother and me.

Emma: Izzy, you have to stand up to him! He can´t always get his way!

Izzy: No, Emma. Look, I just wanna make him happy. I want a happy household.

Emma: Yeah, but it´s not a happy household, if you are not happy. You are half of the house.

Izzy: John loves me, I know it. Thank you for caring, but let it be, please.

Emma: But, Izzy...come on.

Izzy: Look, I have to go. I can´t leave the kids with dad forever or they might really destroy his blood pressure. Thank you for the dress, it´s very cute.

Emma: Though that didn´t work out the way I planned, she´ll be back. Izzy can be hard to crack. She´s my big sister. She´s used to helping me, not the other way around.  

Izzy (off screen): Emma?

Emma: See! I told you so.

Izzy: Where are my car keys?

Emma: I thought they were in your purse.

Izzy: They were in my purse until you stole them like you did back in high school.

Izzy: Emma I´m busy, I don´t have time for these games.

Emma: How can you be busy? You´re on vacation.

Izzy: I... It´s a figure of speech.

Emma: Well, I miss you Izzy. It´s really nice having you around.

Izzy: Oh, I miss you, too. But you know John´s restaurant...

Emma: I know, I know. I just - I guess I was just hoping that we´d spent more time together while you´re in town. Just us. I never get to see you alone anymore. 

Izzy: Oh, we will. I promise. 

Emma: Well, you´re on vacation, but I still have to work. Although I guess we could just hang around here.

Izzy: Here? While you´re working?

Emma: If you let me help you, that could count as work...

Izzy: No! I´m not gonna be you´re client!

Emma: No. You wouldn´t be my client. You would be my sister, who I love and want to help. Here. At work. 

Izzy: Emma, stay out of it.

Emma: Wait! What if I told dad?

Izzy: Told dad what?

Emma: That John doesn´t treat you the way you deserve. 

Izzy: What?! Where did you get that idea?

Emma: You said it!

Izzy: I did not! You´re not telling dad anything. 

Emma: You know how much he worries about your happiness. What would he think, if he knew I knew and didn´t do anything about it?

Izzy: You wouldn´t.

Emma: Maybe...

Izzy: Emma, stop meddling. It has always been your worst habit and it never turns out well.

Emma: Izzy let me help you, please. 

Izzy: No, I told you already. I...

Emma: Come on. Please, please, please, please, please, please... You can´t leave, I´ve got your purse! 

Izzy: This means a lot to you, doesn´t it?

Emma: Yes. Helping my big sister in her hour of need means everything to me. I could never forgive myself, if I didn´t.

Izzy: God, you are so dramatic. Look, if I agree to this, will you stop stealing my things?

Emma: Are you gonna let me make your life better?

Izzy: I´ll come back tomorrow morning. One session. 

Emma: You won´t regret it!

Izzy: I´ll see you tomorrow, Emma.
