John: Here's a little-known fact about Kenyon College to show its commitment to environmental sustainability - tragically, in 1949, Kenyon's famous dormitory, Old Kenyon, burnt to the ground. Rather than constructing a new building, the college recycled the building, literally.
Old Kenyon was reconstructed brick-by-brick, using the original stones. At Kenyon, sustainability isn't just something the college does because we live off the land and teach it in the classroom; Kenyon College is committed to sustainability because it is in the DNA of the campus as well as the walls of its buildings.
