Lydia: So, I texted Jane today, um, I told her we need to talk about stuff. She's really busy with work but she's gonna call me back next weekend.

Wickham: You're gonna tell her 'bout us?

Lydia: Yeah, um, I think I need to.

Wickham: Why're you nervous? She's your sister, she should be thrilled you're happy. You are happy, aren't you?

Lydia: Of course.

Wickham: Okay.

Lydia: Of course, it's just, um... She and Lizzie have always been so close and you and Lizzie and I-I-I just don't want Jane to get mad at me. Not that Jane ever gets mad, but she gets disappointed, and I-I don't want that.

Wickham: She'll understand. And if she doesn't, who needs her, right?

Lydia: Well, she's my sister George, she's one of the most important people in my life.

Wickham: I thought that I was one of the most important people in your life.

Lydia: No, you are!

Wickham: Right, but not as important as your sister who can't even pick up the phone to call you when you ask.

Lydia: Oh, no, no, no, no! That's not it at all.

Wickham: Look, i've seen Jane and Lizzie. They have their own little clique. The Bennet sisters. And you're never going to be in between that. Jane is always going to side with Lizzie, and then what? They're gonna try and break us up. I mean where does that leave me? Or where does that leave us?

Wow. Everything that i've done for you since we've been back together has been for you. Can you say the same thing about your sisters? I mean, I'm here for you Lydia. Where are they? but I guess you'd rather be by yourself, so.

[Wickham stands to leave, Lydia grabs his arm and pulls him back]

Lydia: No, no! Please, please. Don't go. Don't go, please. Um, I-I. I didn't mean it like that. You have to believe me. It's just, she's my sister, but you're... I wouldn't listen to her if she said that. She won't but, but I wouldn't.

Wickham: Ugh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it. I'm terrible. I just love you so much. And the thought of someone walking all over you makes me furious.

Lydia: You love me?

Wickham: Oh my god... Did I just say that for the first time on camera? Yeah. I do, yeah. If your sisters don't approve and you ask me to walk out of your life, it'll kill me. But I'll do that. I'll do that for you. If you ask me. I just hope you know that.

Lydia: I would never ask you to do that. I don't want you to leave.

Wickham: Good, because I don't think I could handle it. Come over this weekend, let me make you dinner. We can't tonight, you have plans, and I know your parents miss you. But Saturday. I'll make you dinner, talk about what you're going to say to Jane, and I'll make up for being such a giant tool.

Lydia: You're not a tool. You're looking out for me, I know, I appreciate it. Um, it's just that, nobody's really done that in a long time.

Wickham: Yeah, I kinda know how that is. We'll figure this out together, okay? You trust me, right?

Lydia: Of course I do.

Wickham: That's my girl.
