We all want better sleep, but you might not get it the way you think. One study was published in December 2021, asked over 500 residents of Copenhagen, Denmark, why they think they don't get high-quality sleep. Most respondents had poor sleep quality and mainly thought it's because they're too warm, but the researchers found no associations between people that felt too warm and any contributing factors Instead, they found that people who reported their sleep being disturbed from being too cold were more likely to sleep in rooms without mechanical ventilation like an air conditioner, so sleep disturbances were also associated with the room being too loud or too stuffy and those factors could be enough to reduce sleep quality so while people thought they're too warm to sleep they're more affected by feeling too cold and other factors they weren't even considering, but the researchers also mentioned that it would be valuable to repeat their study in different seasons to see if that changes the results.
