My name is Willie Perdomo and I am the New York state poet laureate and I am here to read a poem by Waring Cuney.

The poem is called, "No Images". I chose this poem because of it's brevity and it's sharpness.

It doesn't take up much space, doesn't take up much time, but the images or the lack thereof, are poignant and speak to, a sort of larger concern, maybe a socio economic concern, maybe a disconnect from one's from one's natural environment, from one's native environment, and the level of distance that is created in the poem is resonant for me.
