The Art Assignment, launching early 2014, is a weekly PBS Digital Studios production hosted by curator Sarah Green. We will take you around the U.S. to meet working artists and solicit assignments from them that we can all complete.

Sarah: Hi I'm Sarah Urist Green, and welcome to the Art Assignment.
Starting this fall, we'll be traveling around the country visiting artists, and asking them to give you an art assignment. These will not necessarily involve art as you know it, and they won't necessarily be assignments, per se.
You might be asked to create an art work and then destroy it, remake a famous movie poster using only clip art and Comic Sans, or make a field recording in your neighborhood. But we won't know your assignments until we go out and ask for them. So we'll travel around, meeting artists and gathering assignments, and then we'll ask you to join us by posting your own execution of the assignment.
Who is this mysterious we I keep talking about? Well this is Mark; he's gonna shoot it.
Mark: Hello!
Sarah: Meredith will make it funny.
Meredith: No pressure.
Sarah: Stan's gonna make sure we don't spend to much money.
Stan: You guys can take the bus to L.A. for 200 dollars!
Sarah: These guys [PBS] are co-producing it, and this guy is gonna follow creepily at a distance.
John: Creepy!? You married me.
Sarah: Through this web series, we'll seek to de-mystify the art making process and bring you to a wider understanding of what art is and what it can be.
So subscribe, stay tuned, and get ready to make some art.
Click on all these links over here and follow us on, like, everything!
John: Can I... can I be in the video now?
Sarah: You're too tall!
John: No I'm perfect!
(laughter)
