Hank Green: Have you ever stopped to wonder why weird animals are weird? And, what is it about them that makes them seem so odd to us.

Sarah Suta: Maybe they look really strange. Or maybe they’re the only thing like them that exists today.

Hank: Or maybe it’s not the animal at all, it’s just our perceptions of it. Hi! I’m Hank Green.

Sarah: And I’m Sarah Suta. Welcome to Bizarre Beasts.

Once a month, we’ll introduce you to a peculiar animal and explore its fascinating weirdness.

Hank: From mammals that evolved to run on a single finger, to fish that don’t know how to swim.

Sarah: We’ll examine the how and why of some of the world’s most amazingly strange critters.

Hank: And if you want these creatures for your own collection, there’s the Bizarre Beasts pin club!

Sarah: Here’s how it works. New episodes go up the first Friday of every month. If you’re already subscribed, awesome. You’ll get the pin for that month around the time when the episode goes live, and you’re automatically signed up for the next month! If you want to become a new member of the pin club, subscriptions are open for about 72 hours after the video goes live. New subscribers will receive their first pin in the middle of the month, and then keep getting pins whenever a new video goes up!

Hank: And also, profits from the pin club go to support our community’s efforts to decrease maternal mortality in Sierra Leone. So go, subscribe, and do good.
