Bats are amazing! And October is bat appreciation month because, of course, it is! So here are five reasons to appreciate them.
First, we have often used their poop as a fertilizer. Also, their poop can lay down in lots of layers and that can tell us what, like, the past was like by digging into layers of bat poop!
Their immune systems are very good and could teach us more how to protect ourselves from disease.
Do you like mangoes? Do you like tequila? Do you like bananas? All those crops are fertilized by bats! Take that bees!
A bat can eat five hundred mosquitos in an hour. You try that! Don't eat mosquitos.
The economic value of bat pest control is probably, like, tens of billions of dollars a year.
Plus if we didn't have bats, there wouldn't be bats! And they're great, because....
