Truth! Edgar is a really weird guy, man. Wow! Only 40 years and he convinced the news media six different times of false stories. He convinced people that a man had flown to the Moon on a balloon and then come back down to tell everyone that they could do it and be free of their creditors. And he convinced a guy at a newspaper to write a story about a guy who was hypnotized and stayed alive after death. I don't know what that means, to stay alive after death, but somebody wrote about it because Edgar Allan Poe told them to.

Round two

Fact one: A group trying to increase freedom of the press actually convinced a lot of people that there was a warning on the first seasons of Sesame Street saying that they were unsuitable for children.

OR

Fact two: Another serial hoaxter Joseph Mulhattan convinced all of America that there was a farmer in the south who had trained monkeys to pick his crops.
