The black death that swept through London in 1665 resulted in 100,000 deaths, at minimum;  though record keeping back then was a little bit patchy it is said that, the great fire of London resulted in about 8 or 5 or 17 deaths, one of those. On the upside the fire did kill lots and lots of rats and fleas effectively bringing an ending to the outbreak of the plague.

Fact number one:
The town of Beverly in Yorkshire was named after an illegitimate child of Henry V.
Fact number two:
In 1966 a British football club banned celery.
