Good morning, John. I am at Torc Waterfall in Killarney National Park in Ireland and one thing that this waterfall made me think was: Isn't that the perfect noise for going to sleep to?
I often use YouTube videos as like a white noise machine when I'm traveling and I don't have a white noise machine with me for whatever reason. And I see that many of these videos have like 39 million views, and think to myself, "Well that's a good business to be in." And as with all things like this, I was like, "But what if we were in that business for Partners in Health?"
So what have I done? I've taken quite a long recording of this waterfall and I'm going to upload it to the vlogbrothers channel and then I'm gonna take all that money that that video makes and I'm gonna donate it to Partners in Health. And if that works, maybe I will find other good sounds in the world. I'll become like a sound hunter for charity. They'll have one ad and then whatever the YouTube Premium revenue is, and we can calculate that pretty easily. And I'll grab the stats for that every 6 months and I'll make that donation to Partners in Health 'cause Lord knows they could use it right now
John, I'm gonna upload that video right after I upload this one. It's going to be 12 hours pure of just this waterfall and you're gonna look to listen to it, you could fall asleep by it, and all the money is gonna go to make the world a better place. Also, it occurs to me you can help by searching YouTube for white noise videos, listening to them, and selecting the one of Torc Waterfall that I just uploaded. And then YouTube will start recommending that as a white noise video. We'll get way more people than just Nerdfighteria. Maybe we'll take the top spot of searching for white noise on YouTube.
