Vic Michaelis: Can you tell me a secret?
Hank Green: I can, but I have to write it down with my notes!
Vic: You have to write down your secret?
Hank: Well, I-
Vic: Oh, for me to read!
Hank: [Well] Yeah, because otherwise, all these people are gonna know my secret and I'm gonna tell you a real secret. This is one of the biggest secrets of my life.
Vic: Is that true?
Hank: Yeah, and it's gonna take me a second probably to write [it] down.
Vic: Okay.
Hank: So you guys can talk amongst yourself.
Vic: (claps before talking) I love this. Oh man, I love secrets. I think secrets... are... fun and it's like an easy way to connect with people too, is just like, there's just something very, very fun about it and also too, I genuinely believe that like, as people getting to like bear witness to other people's lives is like one of the greatest things that you can do. It like creates a lot of purpose. It's why like, being there in times of grief is really important, but I think secrets sort of operate in a similar way as well. It can be obviously like if you're like unloading on somebody that doesn't, isn't prepared or like doesn't wanna take that on, that's a different thing, but that is how I personally feel about
(Hank giggles.)
Vic: secrets. Raise your hand if you got a secret in the room here. Okay, yeah. Look at that. Raise your hand if you like secrets. Put your hands down. Put 'em back up.
(Crew laughing.)
Vic: Raise the room!
(Crew laughing.)
Vic: I love this. I think in another life, I could be a amazing youth leader for something and I don't know what it is, tough time with teenagers. I think that's maybe my fatal flaw. Okay, ready? Okay. Hmm.
Hank: Made me sweat.
Vic: I have so many follow-up questions and I can't even ask.
Hank: I know you can't ask any of them.
(Vic sighs.)
Hank: If you want to watch the full conversation, it's at YouTube.com/Complexly.
