Hello and welcome to another edition of Truth or Fail where today the answer to every question is football. It's up to you to decide just which game we're talking about. That's right, we're getting into the late summer/early fall part of the year which means the English Premier League is just getting under way and that means soccer fanatics in this country are getting up at insanely early hours to watch a game that the rest of the world calls football. And here in the US, college and NFL teams are getting ready to start their seasons of the game that, much to the confusion and dismay of the rest of the world, is also called football. We'll try not to make this too confusing for you.
I'm going to give you five facts. You will choose whether that fact applies to soccer football or American football. Sounds easy, right. You know what also sounds easy? Penalty kicks and we all know how often those turn out. No pressure. Good luck to you all
Round number one: History lesson.
Various forms of both soccer and football have been played for hundreds of years, and in the early days of each sport, the rules and regulations would often differ depending on what region of a country you were playing in or even what club or university was hosting the game. As you can imagine this made things a bit confusing, especially since both sports tended to overlap with rugby. One of these sports was the first to come up with a standardized set of rules in 1863. Was it soccer or football?
