Hi, I'm Rachel Calderon Navarro.
And I'm Hank Green. And we're both adults.
But more importantly, we are both people who have to navigate the world, and we're both people who have a lot of questions about navigating that world. So along with Caitlin Hofmeister and Sarah Meismer. And with the go ahead from Mike and Emma.
We're going to try and figure out How to Adult! So, who are we? You might know me from SciShow and Crash Course and Vlogbrothers and Dear Hank and John, and also from this butter sculpture that was made of me, but also I often inhabit the identity of ‘person attempting to adult'.
You may have seen me in some of the DFTBA Warehouse videos, but I'm also the Project. Manager for DFTBA, I run an alternative art gallery, sew my own clothes, and I have this adorable cat. What makes you feel like an adult?
I think the fact that I no longer have to ask my mom for money… makes me feel like an adult. It's funny because I have- I have a child now and I-I… very recently got this thing, and I feel so much more like an adult now. There's something to the ah- to having this person who is gonna die if I don't take care of him.
Yes. That's like, ‘Ah, that's- that's a new level of responsibility'. So Hank, what are you the most excited about exploring in How to Adult?
I- I'm excited about talking about money stuff. Like, my dad was always really like, we're going to talk about finances! We should just have my dad do this, now that I'm thinking about it.
You? You got anything you're into? I think I'm more interested in the idea side of how- what it means to be an adult.
To me I feel like I'm not fully adult. I've never bought a house before and I feel like that's part of being an adult. The people who are watching- they're growing up with me.
They're becoming an adult with me. So it's like a discovery. So join us as we accept the torch from Mike & Emma, and learn about things like how to meal plan, or how to start a new job.
We have so many ideas that we're excited to explore with you guys, and we can't wait to see what this journey looks like. So thank you to Mike & Emma,. And thank you for watching.
And with that, Hank, take us out with the catchphrase. Right the catchphrase- yes I've got a ton of good catchphrase ideas but I have to do some baby stuff right now so... I can't believe you just pulled that one on me.
It is the best excuse, I'm going to be using it all the time.
