Hey, what's up?

My name is MARS and I'm a writer and cultural organizer living in Detroit. And today I'm going to be reading my poem, "Eigengrau".

Eigengrau means light dark. It is essentially what you see when you are, maybe, surrounded in darkness but you can still feel out and make out what is happening in a room. And this poem is a meditation on connection and originally was published in the Detroit Metro Times.
