Hello everyone!

I’m Jessi, and we’re at Animal Wonders, an animal rescue and education facility that cares for close to a hundred displaced exotic pets and non-releasable wildlife. One of my personal favorites is Kemosabe our prehensile-tailed porcupine, who is weird and adorable and terrifying all at the same time.

Kemosabe is very curious, and he also loves bananas. He has a gigantic nose, and he’s able to smell bananas from a pretty good distance. So that got me thinking about what lengths he would go to to get a deliciously sweet and squishy banana.

So, I built him an obstacle course! In the wild, prehensile-tailed porcupines would be climbing around in the trees searching for food all night long, and it can be hard work. To keep him active - here you go, bud - and avoid boredom in his cushy life at Animal Wonders, we always hide his food all around his enclosure.

So he’s used to foraging for his food, but he’s never done something to this scale. I’m putting the banana at the end of the hallway so when he makes it all the way through, he’ll get his much deserved reward. Let’s see how he does! [CHEERY INTRO MUSIC] [CLASSICAL MUSIC].

Go, buddy, go! Can you smell the banana? Go get it!

You can do it, buddy. Go, go, go! Go, go, go!

Yeah, dude! Nice job! Go get your banana!

Yeah, go get your banana! How was that, buddy? Did you enjoy that?

Yeah, can you tell us about it? Your mouth is too full of banana! Yeah.

Do you want to be left alone with your banana now? Yeah? It's good?

Okay, enjoy your banana! You're welcome! Kemosabe is the best porcupine ever, and I’m so glad we can offer him a home where all of his needs are taken care of.

If you’d like to see more of Kemosabe, check out his playlist. You won’t be disappointed! The link is in the description.

And if you’d like to see more of all the animals at Animal Wonders, be sure to subscribe and go on an animal adventure with us every week. Thanks!
