"French the Llama" is a phrase used by nerdfighters. It was first coined by a Nerdfighter who successfully tricked John Green into believing "French the Llama" was the meaning of FTL, an acronym actually meaning "for the loss". It is used to show surprise, in the place of "Oh my gosh!". John is trying to make it a "real thing". It was first mentioned in the Awesome Project is Awesome video by John in wake of the 2009 P4A. "I think it should be an exclamation of amazement," explained John in the video. Though not often mentioned in Vlogbrothers videos, there is (as of May 2014) a French the Llama poster available at the DFTBA store.
